All donations to Kutch Jyoti Trust (KJT) are 100% Tax Exempted under section 35AC and 50% under 80G of the Income Tax.

Ethical Policies

KJT, as a leading development organization, aims to serve a unique purpose and play a valuable role in promoting a just, equitable and poverty free society in Kutch and Saurashtra region of Gujarat.

General Principles

While we are committed to continuing our work, we do not believe that “survival ar all costs” is a acceptable position. We therefore premise our fundraising strategy on the following principles:

  • We will not undertake any work which compromises our independence, the quality of our work or our integrity.
  • We will not work with any institution which we believe intentionally undermines the principles of democracy.
  • We believe we are accountable to the wider community of people in our country and on our continent for the responsible use of all resources which are put at our disposal.

Source of Funds

KJT will raise funds from individuals/institutions (private/government/corporate bodies etc.) from within the country as well as from outside. It will strive from increasing the percentage of self- raised fund in organization.

KJT will not knowingly accept any fund from sources

  • Who are engaged in unfair means to earn their income.
  • Whose income is earned from production/sale of liquor, tobacco etc.
  • Who indulge in trafficking of children and women and are involved in other criminal activities.
  • Unwillingly to accept receipts.

Utilization of fund

KJT will utilize all specified funds for the purpose stated at the time of raising the fund. In no circumstances, It will divert the fund for purposes, which were not stated whild fundraising without prior information to the donors. The utilization of fund will be done as per the following standards.

Money received as an unspecified donation will be used to finance prioritized work for which specific permission are not obtainable. We have drawn up a list of priorities work for the nest three years, and every effort will be made to match this work to available fund. Where the work is seen as urgent, and no such commissions are available, we will use unspecified donations to finance the work.

Communication

  • Communicate about its income, expenditure, impact of its work and learning to public to ensure accountability and transparence.
  • Define its communication plan to reach our to public through Media, publications, events, festivals etc.
  • Identify a goodwill Ambassador - with high level of integrity.
  • Provide accurate information/reports to all donors about utilization of their fund on time.
