From floor to flour
In this inflationary period I found if very difficult to meet the ends in a family of five with a marginal income of Rs.2800/- from my husband’s tea stall and from my existing flour mill quoted Jassiben Ranabhai, 35, a member of Gayatri SHG in Ganeshnagar village of Dhori Cluster. Ever since I am in Ganeshnagar I had a flour mill which was run by a Diesel engine. This engine created a huge sound which disturbed the nearby households. I often got complaints from the people when the flour mill was open. Not only that it was a real problem to maintain the engine, to start and to stop the engine and it return what I got was only 40kgs of flour in one and half hour. Looking into all the problems I thought of applying for a loan from KJT Micro Finance System. My group supported me and thus I got a loan of Rs.50000/-. I used the amount to buy an electric motor of 10 horse power, got an electric connection from GEB and used the best cables for the connection. Now the output of the mill is 100kgs in one hour. There is no sound at all when the machine is on and I just open the mill during the peak hour in the evening. I earn nearly Rs.6900/- per month. The electric bill and other expenses for the month comes nearly Rs.2500/- and thus I earn an average profit of Rs.4400 per month.
