Kutch Jyoti Trust is a Non Government Organisation (NGO) Registered under The Indian Trust Act 1886, on 15th of January 1979. Ever since its inception the Trust was engaged in development of the less privileged, poor and marginalized communities of Rural Kutch District especially in Mandvi Taluka, through different activities.
Kutch Jyoti Trust in collaboration with Caritas India played vital and pro-active role in responding to the effects of the earthquake on 26th January 2001 in Gujarat. We provided temporary shelters to 9231 families in 225 villages and for its rehabilitation adopted 14 interior and one urban villages and successfully completed, Construction of 3264 (NGO-Government partnership) houses, 6 schools, 12 community halls, 3 village administrative offices, 3064 toilets, and Water supply system in all the villages. Further we have initiated Animation process through "Linking Relief and Rehabilitation to Development" in 84 villages and formed more than 1000 self-help groups and assisted 4986 families for livelihood and working for the integrated village development keeping in mind the area of concern like health, education, livelihood, empowerment and capacity building programmes and trainings at various levels. As part of livelihood we have started Navchetna Micro Finance System and have supported 4000+ families for their livelihood and development with over 2 crores of rupees on a revolving basis.
